Woman Walks Ahead

“Woman Walks Ahead,” directed by Susanna White, follows the journey of Catherine Weldon, a widowed artist from Brooklyn, who travels to North Dakota in the 1890s to paint a portrait of the legendary Sioux chief Sitting Bull. As she becomes embroiled in the struggle between the Native American tribes and the U.S. government, Catherine’s life is transformed by her deepening connection with Sitting Bull and her commitment to their cause.
