FBI agent Joel Campbell, exhausted and traumatized from years of tracking serial killers, escapes Los Angeles to start anew in Chicago. However, five months into his fresh start, his plans are shattered when a series of brutal murders occur in his new city—crimes that could only be the work of David Allen Griffin. Griffin, one of Joel’s most slippery and intelligent adversaries, has tracked him to Chicago to engage in a twisted game of cat and mouse. Griffin taunts Joel with photos of his future victims and leaves his crime scenes impeccably clean of evidence to keep the authorities at bay. He takes as much delight in observing Joel’s reactions as he does in the act of killing.
