The Truth Commissioner

In a Northern Ireland emerging from the Troubles, “The Truth Commissioner” tells the imagined tale of Henry Stanfield, portrayed by Roger Allam. Stanfield is a seasoned diplomat newly assigned as the Truth Commissioner for Northern Ireland. Driven by a desire to succeed as a mediator, the Prime Minister pushes for a commission inspired by South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation process. However, despite Stanfield’s courageous beginnings, he soon stumbles upon some grim and troublesome realities about the current leaders—realities that those in authority are unwilling to expose.
