Samantha Hodges, a driven high school senior, is deeply committed to her role as a journalist for both the school newspaper and the yearbook. Equally important to her are her friendships with Nate, Gillian, and Rudy, who, like her, are competing for a full scholarship to a nearby college. Samantha shares a strong bond with her mother, Emily, the school’s guidance counselor. Her journalistic pursuits take a more investigative direction when two of her fellow students, also scholarship contenders, are found murdered.
