Yes Minister
Set primarily within the confines of a British Cabinet minister’s private office at the Department of Administrative Affairs in Whitehall, “Yes Minister” chronicles the political journey of The Rt Hon Jim Hacker MP, portrayed by Paul Eddington. Hacker faces numerous challenges in crafting and implementing policies or initiating departmental reforms, often encountering resistance from the British Civil Service, especially from his Permanent Secretary, Sir Humphrey Appleby, played by Nigel Hawthorne. His Principal Private Secretary, Bernard Woolley, played by Derek Fowlds, frequently finds himself caught in the middle of their conflicts. The sequel, “Yes, Prime Minister,” features the same cast and explores the developments during Jim Hacker’s tenure as Prime Minister, following his unexpected rise to power after the previous PM’s resignation.
