The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is a U.S. television series that was broadcast on ABC from March 4, 1992, until July 24, 1993. The filming occurred in various spots around Wilmington, North Carolina, including the University of North Carolina Wilmington campus. This series was a collaborative production between Amblin Entertainment, Lucasfilm, and Paramount Network Television.

The narrative delves into the early life and adolescence of the fictional character Indiana Jones. Sean Patrick Flanery and Corey Carrier primarily portray the young Indiana, while George Hall appears as an older version of the character in most episodes’ framing sequences. Notably, Harrison Ford made an appearance in the framing of one episode. The series was the brainchild of George Lucas, who also served as the executive producer, and he was instrumental in creating, co-writing, and producing the Indiana Jones movies.

Despite its high production costs, the series was discontinued in 1993. Nevertheless, after its cancellation, four TV movies were made between 1994 and 1996 to try to extend the series. In 1999, the series was restructured into 22 TV films, collectively titled The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones.
