Max Steel

Max Steel

“Max Steel” is a CGI-animated, science fiction-action series that originally aired from February 25, 2000, to January 15, 2002. The show, inspired by the Mattel action figure of the same name, spanned three seasons with a total of thirty-five episodes, targeting young boys aged eight to twelve. From 2004 to 2012, a series of direct-to-DVD movies continued to feature the main character, although only the first film maintained the series’ original continuity. Subsequent movies, starting with “Endangered Species,” deviated from the established storyline and were primarily released in Latin America, with “Endangered Species” being the only one available in the United States. The voice cast included notable names like Chi McBride, Christian Campbell (Neve Campbell’s older brother), and sports icons such as Tony Hawk.

Following the bankruptcy of Netter Digital and Foundation Imaging, Mainframe Entertainment took over production for the third season and the movies. The series concluded with the episode “Truth Be Told” on January 15, 2002. Notably, “Max Steel” was the first computer-generated series to be broadcast on Kids’ WB.

A reboot of the series is currently airing on Disney XD, featuring significant changes to characters and storylines.
