Les Misérables

In 1815 France, Jean Valjean, a petty criminal, is freed after enduring 19 years of harsh imprisonment. However, a minor misstep soon has the authorities chasing him once more. The relentless Inspector Javert, fueled by a distorted view of justice, hunts Valjean over the years. Meanwhile, Valjean transforms his life, prospers, and commits himself to acts of kindness. By 1832, amidst the chaos of the Parisian revolution, Valjean and Javert encounter each other for a final confrontation.
