Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is a U.S. reality TV series that focuses on renovating homes for families and community schools in need. The show is led by Ty Pennington, a former model, carpenter, and seasoned TV host.

In each episode, a family experiencing recent or ongoing challenges, like a natural disaster or a serious illness, is selected to receive a home makeover. This transformation, which includes both interior and exterior renovations as well as landscaping, is completed in just seven days while the family is away on vacation, and the process is captured on film. If the home is beyond repair, it is completely rebuilt. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is a spin-off of the earlier series Extreme Makeover, which focused on personal transformations for selected individuals. The Home Edition has surpassed its predecessor in longevity. While both shows involve significant transformations, they differ in format; the original series did not necessarily select participants based on recent hardships, whereas the family’s story is a crucial element in Home Edition.
