China, IL

“China, IL,” short for “China, Illinois,” is an animated show broadcast on Adult Swim. Created by Brad Neely, the series incorporates characters from Neely’s previous web series and special, also titled “China, IL.” The main characters include Frank and Steve Smith, known as “The Professor Brothers,” and Mark “Baby” Cakes, all voiced by Neely himself. The show is produced by Williams Street and animated by Titmouse, Inc. It has been renewed for a second season, with plans to extend each episode to a half-hour format.

On May 25, 2008, Adult Swim aired an 11-minute special called “The Funeral,” which was initially available on the now-closed Super Deluxe website. This special merged Neely’s “Professor Brothers” and “Baby Cakes” web series, creating a broader setting for the characters. Both the special and Neely’s other works are accessible on his YouTube channel.
