Film editor Katie Griffin is deeply infatuated with author Richard Mannhart and begins a romantic relationship with him. After Mannhart’s wife dies in a car accident, Katie informs the police that she suspects he may have sabotaged the vehicle. When questioned, Mannhart insists on his innocence and denies having any romantic relationship with Griffin.
