Jonathan, a naive student from the Midwest, forms a friendship with his sophisticated roommate, Skip, who mentors him. Encouraged by Skip, Jonathan ventures into the cocktail bars of Chicago to pursue older women. There, he encounters and becomes romantically involved with the captivating Ellen, only to discover she is Skip’s mother. Their friendship is strained even more when a cheating scandal erupts at their school.
