To earn the title of the Fittest on Earth, an individual must overcome a series of demanding physical and mental tests. The year 2020 presented an abundance of such challenges. “Resurgence” documents the intense drama as CrossFit adapts to host an in-person event during a global pandemic. They devise a new competition structure to whittle down a vast pool of athletes to just 5 men and 5 women. These competitors gather at a modest ranch in California, ready to face any trials required to claim the title of the Fittest on Earth.
