Like a House on Fire

The narrative follows a woman who comes back to her hometown in an attempt to rebuild her relationship with the young daughter and distant husband she abandoned two years earlier. Upon her return, she discovers that her daughter has no memory of her, and her husband is now involved with another woman who is seven months pregnant.
