Resting Place

In a television film set in Rockville, Georgia, during 1972, Major Kendall Laird, a Survival Assistance Officer, comes to this quiet town with the remains of Lieutenant Dwyte Johnson, a decorated Vietnam war hero. Laird’s duty is to assist Johnson’s parents in laying their son to rest. However, because Johnson was black, his parents face rejection from the white racists who uphold the town’s “all-white” cemetery policy.
