Deprogrammed

In the early 1970s, Ted ‘Black Lightning’ Patrick pioneered the method of ‘deprogramming’, or ‘reverse brainwashing’, which rapidly evolved into a widespread clandestine movement. This movement was driven by worried parents, former cult members who became deprogrammers, and a few supportive law enforcement officers, all united in their goal to extract people from cults both physically and mentally.
