In the movie “Equals,” directed by Drake Doremus, society has eradicated emotions to maintain peace and stability, but a mysterious disease begins to awaken feelings in some individuals. As two affected people, Silas and Nia, navigate their newfound emotions, they must decide whether to conform to societal norms or embrace their love in a world that forbids it.
