Brass Eye

“Brass Eye” is a British television series that parodies news magazines with a satirical twist. It originally aired on Channel 4, featuring six episodes in 1997 and an additional episode in 2001. The show was the brainchild of Chris Morris, who collaborated with writers David Quantick, Peter Baynham, Jane Bussmann, Arthur Mathews, and Graham Linehan. Directed by Michael Cumming, “Brass Eye” serves as a follow-up to Morris’s previous spoof news shows, “On the Hour” and “The Day Today.” The series critiques how the media sensationalizes social issues and incites moral panics. The cast includes Doon MacKichan, a colleague from “The Day Today,” along with Gina McKee, Mark Heap, Simon Pegg, Julia Davis, and Kevin Eldon.
