Carmilla arrives in a countryside village where her mother vanished under mysterious circumstances years ago. She is assisted in her search by a local girl who is emotionally disturbed, and the two develop a romantic connection. This relationship provokes the anger of the girl’s father, who possesses the crucial information Carmilla needs to uncover the horrifying truth. The story draws inspiration from Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu’s renowned Gothic novella.
